SFX: First Friday

Bedazzled - Bedazzled

Bedazzled

This remake of Pete-and-Dud's fantasy classic was directed in 2000 by Harold Ramis. It boasts Brendan Fraser as the luckless romantic who offers his soul to the Devil in return for a shot at fame and fortune. Elizabeth Hurley, turning up in a variety of alluring guises, plays the Devil, who offers the loser seven wishes - but, as you might expect of a bargain with the Big Bad, each wish comes with a horrific catch. Hurley and Fraser have chemistry, although they're not really a match for the original 1967 version.
Stepmother is an Alien - Stepmother

Stepmother is an Alien

Starring none other than Willow out of Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Except when she was a lot younger. It also boasts Seth Green, who later popped up in Buffy. Alyson Hannigan plays Jessie Mills, who's father falls in love with a foxy lady (Kim Basinger) who's out of this world. No really, she's from another planet. She's come to Earth to find the source of some weird experiments that are damaging her home world. My Stepmother Is An Alien is charming and silly, but fun and romantic - a real "guilty pleasure" movie.
Free Enterprise - Free

Free Enterprise

"Fantastic film" splutters our Nick, whenever you mention this 1998 flick about Star Trek fans trying to make it in Hollywood. It stars William Shatner, as himself, and the bloke out of Will and Grace. In the movie, we witness two grown-up geeks struggling with career and relationship problems, while clinging to their love of classic Star Trek for its wisdom and guidance. Shatner sends himself up beautifully, and the two central characters demonstrate that nerds can be cool too.

One of these films will be screened on Friday 2 March. Click on the button below to find out which movie has won.
